How you might ask did I come to be known as Higgins? It’s a story that I have not shared since I have travelled this forest alone for quite some time. But come, Human, sit with me and I’ll share with you my story.
My mother perished when a tree was taken down by something large that was not of the forest. When we hit the ground I was whisked into the arms of another who had no hair. I remember falling asleep and waking up at a place called the Centre. I was quick to learn your language while there. After they taught me the necessary skillsets to learn how to be on my own in the forest, the Centre reintroduced me into the forest where I ruminated on my own for years. This forest has been my teacher and I have been a good student for I have learned that there is a circle of life here. Do you, Human, understand the circle of life?
As I close my eyes, I can still feel the touch of my mother. She still is in my heart.
I have invited you into the forest so that you could feel my presence; my realization. Come and sit with me, close your eyes and see the world as I do. When you hold me in the palm of your hand, feel the freedom of exploring the forest floor from soil to the fresh water between your toes, to climbing the heights of tall trees without fear, to sitting in order to be and enjoy life.
